PostSubject: My pastor needs heavy prayer   Mon Jan 28, 2008 11:38 pm

First off, I would like to greet you all and thank you for having me here. I apologize for debuting with such a somber post, but reality must be dealt with here.

Friday afternoon my pastor suffered an aneurysm. For those of you who don't know, an aneurysm is basically like a popped blood vessel. In this case, it occurred in my pastor's brain, which can be fatal, or cause severe brain damage. He survived the aneurysm, but is not doing so well. He was scheduled to have surgery today, but was transfered to another hospital for better treatment. Please pray for him, his family, and our church as we all deal with his absence and the hurt it causes us all. Please pray that God's will be done and that He would provide our church with all that we need to sustain and remain functioning. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I know I'll definitely keep your pastor in prayer, bro. Can you give us your pastor's name?

Praise God that your pastor is still alive. Most aneurysms result in instant death. I know because it happened to my cousin, the Summer of 07. No warning, no nothing. I praise God because He is in total control of everything. And in everything He does, it is for His glory and our good. Whatever the outcome (and please believe, I am praying for healing) my ultimate desire is that God uses us as instruments to bring someone to Christ. God will be glorified. And I pray that God uses you to be an awesome instrument for His use.

Be blessed, my brother. God knows just what He's doing.

Wow. Praise God indeed Jewel. I know that they can be very dangerous. Thanks you all for your prayers! I have an update.

Yesterday my pastor had surgery. They say it went well. He should be awake today, which would be the first time since last Friday. Please pray that he continues to respond well to the surgery, if God wills it. Thanks again all.

Praise God, fam. I pray that he would continue to recover well. I'm sure it's difficult for everyone involved.

Praise God for his recovery! Its awesome to see God work. I will continue to pray for total recovery, but ultimately that He will be glorified. What an awesome testimony though.

Update:

As I already mentioned, he's had his surgery, and for the past 2 days he's been battling a fever. He's now out of the induced coma, but not fully awake, though he is responsive. He hasn't spoken a word since the day of his hospitalization. I ask that you continue to keep this in prayer. Thanks again.

Well, it's good to hear that he's out of the induced coma. It may take him a while to "ween" all the way off the drugs that kept him in the coma. We'll definitely keep this in prayer.

Here's the latest:

He's still in the ICU, but he's gotten the tube he had in his mouth removed. That was a blessing because we were praying for that. He hasn't spoken for 2 weeks, so he's still not able to speak yet. He also can't eat solid foods, but he's fully responsive and he's shown that he recognizes people. His recovery thus far has been nothing short of a miracle, but it's a slow process. Contune to keep him and his family in prayer, as well as our church. THANkS

YES!! We are keeping you all in our constant prayers. God has been and will continue to be glorified in this situation. And I pray that God uses you as an instrument to draw someone closer to Him...to realize their dire need for Christ. Grace and Peace!
