Just a question you might want to ask an Atheist/Agnostic/Evolutionist...

If we are merely fully grown germs that came about through random chance and we are going to eventually end up in a place of absolute nothingness, why do they count this life as such a great thing?

What I mean is, if from nothing we came, and to nothing we return, why is life so valued? Where is human dignity? You don't celebrate random chance. You don't celebrate something that came from nothing and then again will be nothing. What's the significance of such a being?

Just a thought.

It's true that doctrine divides. It's also true that love unifies. The unity we have in the faith is rooted and grounded in truth and love. Remove truth (right theology and doctrine) from the mix and you have less than Biblical unity. Remove love and you have no unity. Love causes us to seek truth and share that truth with others so that we become more unified. God is truth, and as we are more acquainted with His truth, the closer we are to Him, and the closer we become to each other

Here's what I would have answered like 5 years ago:

We (atheist) value this life that much because of that.. we come from nothing, and we're going to end up in nothing.. so, what you do in this life and WITH your life is what really matters.. "LIVING LIFE TO THE FULLEST"..

First off, I feel this is posted in the wrong forum. If you want answers, seek a science forum. Truthfully, I'd say that the reason they value this life is because it's all they have. In fact, we give less regard to this life than they do...to die is gain, you know?
